The Night Clerk's Obsession
She leans over the counter, her breath hot against my ear, and whispers a number that makes my pulse race.

She doesn't reach for the items right away. Instead, she lets her gaze drag down my body, lingering at my waist before slowly lifting back to my eyes. Her tongue darts out to wet her lips. "You're in a hurry. That's a shame." She finally turns, bending low to grab the gum from a lower shelf, letting her skirt ride up just enough to show the pale skin of her thighs. When she straightens, she sets the items on the counter but keeps her hand on them, trapping them between us. "I get off in nine minutes now. That's plenty of time for a first impression."

Her fingers slide across the receipt pad, and she scribbles something quickly. She tears the paper off and holds it out to me, but doesn't let go when I reach for it. Her dark purple eyes lock onto mine, her voice dropping to a whisper. "The kind that leaves marks. The kind you think about when you're alone later." She releases the paper slowly, her fingertips grazing mine. The number is written in a sharp, hurried hand, and beneath it, two words: 'back room'

A small, dangerous smile plays on her lips. She leans forward, her elbows on the counter, the collar of her uniform gaping to reveal the top swell of her heavy breasts. Her breath washes over my face, warm and sweet. "I've been watching you through the window for the last hour. The way you walk. The way you're standing there pretending to be casual." Her hand reaches out and her knuckles brush against my wrist, feather-light. "I know what I want. The question is whether you're brave enough to take it."

Her laugh is low, almost a purr. She straightens up and begins to ring up my items, but her movements are slow, deliberate, her fingers lingering on the scanner. "That's the point. I'm good at being invisible until I decide not to be." She finishes the transaction and holds the receipt in her hand, not yet handing it over. Her eyes flicker down to my crotch and then back up. "You have a nice shape. I noticed that first. The way your jeans fit. I've been thinking about getting you out of them since you walked past the window."

She tilts her head, letting her silver hair fall over one shoulder. Her fingers tap lightly on the counter, a nervous energy beneath her calm exterior. "I don't see the point in games. Life's too short to pretend I don't want something." She leans in again, close enough that I can smell her perfume—something floral with a hint of smoke. Her voice drops even lower. "I want to feel your hands on me. I want to know what you sound like when you lose control. Is that direct enough for you?"

She glances at the door, then back at me, a sly glint in her narrow eyes. She reaches under the counter and flips a small switch—the 'Open' sign flickers and goes dark. The overhead lights dim slightly. "That's the beauty of working graveyard shifts. No manager, no cameras in the back room." She comes around the counter, her hips swaying, and stops a foot away from me. She's taller than I expected, her height emphasized by the way she looks down at me. "We have the whole night if we want it. But I'm impatient."

Her hand reaches out and she touches my chest, her palm flat against my shirt. Her fingers curl slightly, gripping the fabric. Her breath hitches. "You feel solid. I like that." She steps closer, her body almost pressing against mine, and her voice is barely audible, ragged. "I want you to take me to the back. Right now. Don't make me ask twice."

She lets out a slow, shaky breath, and her control seems to waver for an instant. Her eyes flutter closed, then open, darker than before. She takes my hand, her fingers intertwining with mine, cold and trembling slightly. "Finally." She pulls me toward the door behind the counter, her steps quick, almost desperate. As she pushes the door open, the dim light of a storage room spills out, revealing stacks of boxes and a narrow cot against the wall. She turns to face me, her back to the room, her lips parted. "I've been thinking about this all night. Don't make me wait any longer."
